25 days to xmas yipee!!!

It finally dawned on me (xmas is really around the corner). Rec'd my first xmas card today and it was from overseas :) (i felt really special in a good way that is ). It just hit me i now have to start buying cards and gifts to send out to friends and family and of course look out for really tyte e-cards :).
There is this house to close the station where i live the owner has been working on the front porch (laying bricks) since august. Habibi and I always make fun of the man bcos we keep wondering what is taking the man so longgggggggg. On some days you will see the man digging and digging like he intends to build a well or sumthin! Other days dude will be measuring stuff on the ground. what made it worse was that someone else close by just started working on his porch as well and was done in less than a week.
Anywayz i passed by the man's house today and his porch is finally done -looking lovely i dare say (it was absolutely worth the slow coach runs!). It finally hit me that is just like my life.....i can't keep expecting to get 'the porch' ready in a week God's plan is so different. He wants to take His time to make sure i am blinging when its all said and done :)
Tomorrow is World Aids Day check out Olawunmi's blog
Do check out Uzo's soundbyte.....

Ticking away so quickly :(
Having an off day tonight..........i feel like such an ingrate worrying about all i haven't been able to accomplish this year (its the last day of november tomorrow lawd have mercy). Just finished having a lil pity party (guess who the guest of honor was!). There is so much i had hoped to accomplish this year ( i am too scared to get my journal and go through the list)
My habibi has being such a help.......consoling me with nice words and a lovely bear hug :) but i just feel so funny. He has recommended i read the book of Job(now that will put any whiner in check!). Had plans for every facet of my life and to be honest i haven't even scratched surface in any of these areas (looks like someone will have to be super busy in december). Thank goodness for people that keep me in check when i start to feel sorry for myself :my habibi and my immediate lil sis.
Arrggggggghhhh i wish i could just get to the top of some mountain and just scream my lungs out..........this is definately a sign that i need to spend more time on my knees (its been long since i really had a quality time in His presence). Any suggestions?
Food for the soul : Five minutes after death

Do u know how much bacteria you carry in that bag?

A few days ago i received this article from a friend. Thought i should share...........
Have you ever noticed gals who sit their handbags on public toilet floors> - then go directly to their dining tables and set it on the table? Happens a lot!
Mum got so upset when guests came in the door and plopped their handbags down on the counter where she was cooking or setting up food. She always said that handbags are really dirty, because of where they have been.Smart Mum!!! It's something just about every woman carries with them. While we may know what's inside our handbags, do you have any idea what's on the outside? Shauna Lake put handbags to the test - for bacteria - with surprising results. You may think twice about where you put your handbag. Women carry handbags everywhere; from the office to public toilets to the floor of the car.
Most women won't be caught without their handbags, But did you ever stop to think about where your handbag goes during the day? I drive a school bus, so my handbag has been on the floor of the bus alot," says one woman. "On the floor of my car, and in toilets." "I put my handbag in grocery shopping carts, on the floor of the toilet while changing a nappy," says another woman "and of course in my home which should be clean." We decided to find out if handbags harbour a lot of bacteria. We learned how to test them at Nelson Laboratories in Salt Lake, and then we set out to test the average woman's handbag. Most women told us they didn't stop to think about what was on the bottom of their handbag. Most said at home they usually set their handbags on top of kitchen tables and counters where food is prepared. Most of the ladies we talked to told us they wouldn't be surprised if their handbags were at least a little bit dirty.
It turns out handbags are so surprisingly dirty, even the microbiologist who tested them was shocked.Microbiologist Amy Karen of Nelson Labs says nearly all of the handbags tested were not only high in bacteria, but high in harmful kinds of bacteria. Pseudomonas can cause eye infections, staphylococcus aurous Can cause serious skin infections, and salmonella and e-coli found on the handbags could make people very sick. In one sampling, four of five handbags tested positive for salmonella, and that's not the worst of it. "There is fecal contamination (ewwww) on the handbags," says Amy. Leather or vinyl handbags tended to be cleaner than cloth handbags, and lifestyle seemed to play a role. People with kids tended to have dirtier handbags than those without, with one exception. The handbag of one single woman who frequented nightclubs had one of the worst contaminations of all. "Some type of feces, or possibly vomit" (that's just nasty)says Amy. So the moral of this story - your handbag won't kill you, but it does have the potential to make you very sick if you keep it on places where you eat.
Use hooks to hang your handbag at home and in toilets, and don't put it on your desk, a restaurant table, or on your kitchen countertop.Experts say you should think of your handbag the same way you would a pair of shoes. "If you think about putting a pair of shoes onto your countertops, that's the same thing you're doing when you put your handbag on the countertops" - your handbag has gone where individuals before you have sneezed, coughed, spat, urinated, emptied bowels, etc! Do you really want to bring that home with you? The microbiologists at Nelson also said cleaning a handbag will help. Wash cloth handbags and use leather cleaner to clean the bottom of leather handbags.

Sending my biography (not)

I have been receiving mails in my yahoo box from someone called T.O for the past year. At times she sends love poems, short mails and even her CV to my inbox. I am guessing her man based far away from her has an email address similiar to mine. I must confess i never bothered to reply to her mails bcos i figured she will get the drift that her mails are going to la la land after sometime. But i was wrong..... I received another mail from her today (and in honour of my new found self :) I decided to send her this mail

Hi T.O

You keep sending mails to my inbox for 'XXXXXX YZBXXXX' but i don't know who the person is. Please check the email addy properly.

Regards

Funmi

This lady now replies with this:

Thanks for your reply. Pls could you tell me more about yourself? Is like i'm mistaking you for somebody i know. Or are you Funmi from Upper Room Baptist Church? Thank you.

Like ok i am about to start composing a brief bio of myself and sending it off. Couldn't she have just replied : o ma bad thought i had the right address sorry for feeling your inbox with all my lovey dovey stuff.

How have u been?
I have been playing good hostess for the past week as a result my blog visits were reduced (a week from blogville and it seems so much has happened). Had family over for a week and it was a blast.I didn't realise how beautiful London was until i had to act as a tour guide for my guests. Visited London Eye (i honestly don't see the point of it to be honest but it was a good experience), Buckingham Palace, Traflagar Square, Madame Tussads, London Dungeon and of course Peckham Rye.
Next year i intend to visit alot more 'touristy' stuff in London i realised i took so much for granted from my family being over. There isn't much going on per se in my world just the usual mudane activities of daily life (which i am truly grateful for). Didn't get to go for FOL and i am still very bitter because i had to go down to Buckingham to see my baby sister (what is it with that town and not having signs to show there was a uni there arrghhhhhhhh). This trip taught me that i had to invest quickly in a sat-nav system before its too late!

Last week i met an old friend online and we got talking (the usual catch up). He congratulated me on my recent change in status and decided to keep me up2date on our mutual friends. He sent me a link about an old friend.....on checking the link out i found out that my friend had killed his mum. Yes your eyes are not deceiving you his mum...........i have been replaying the possible scenario in my head and i can't seem to wrap my brains around it. What was going thru his mind when he decided to commit this abomination is beyond me. So last week i mourned the loss of a friend...........he is crossed over to a path that only the Almighty can pull him out from. He was such a fun-loving and intelligent boy. He had a few issues a few years back but i always thought he had dealt with them (i guess i was wrong).
Its amazing how the year is almost wrapping up wasn't it just independence day a few weeks ago? After reading Adaure's piece on thanksgiving i did a quick recap of 2006 and i realised alleluyah meje o to rara (isn't enough). God truly has been faithful in so many ways.......beginning of this year habibi and I almost called it quits (the toll of keeping a ldr and all the distractions weren't helping at all). Fast forward ten months we are playing the same tune. My siblings have all had various issues this year and somehow God always made a way out of all the chaos. This year i learnt what the true meaning of friendship was......i have always thought i had loads of people i could count on when things got messy (unfortunately this year alotttt of people showed their true colors and i was shocked). I guess i should be glad but sometimes it hurts (all those years invested into building the rships was just a waste).
Finally decided that i need to fight this battle of the bulge..........i don't know what happened it seems someone came and added pounds of 'phat' on me overnight. Its not even funny at all.........i got the lateral thigh trainer a few months back and i keep looking at it (wish that would help with the weight loss). I have finally decided to take the bull by the horns and starting from tomorrow (u were expecting me to type today nahhhhh i need to hype myself up first) i will start doing 30 mins of exercise. The pounds just piled up without giving me any notice so now its WAR! (wish me luck)
Please check out Yellow Ibo Girl's page.........i thought it was quite intense
Miguel's thesis on the games women play is finally ready....do check it out

My habibi
Its four days left before thanksgiving in the states. Yesterday's 'food for soul reading' was psalm 50
THE MIGHTY One, God, the Lord, speaks and calls the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting.
2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God shines forth.
3 Our God comes and does not keep silence; a fire devours before Him, and round about Him a mighty tempest rages.
4 He calls to the heavens above and to the earth, that He may judge His people:
5 Gather together to Me My saints [those who have found grace in My sight], those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.
6 And the heavens declare His righteousness (rightness and justice), for God, He is judge. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!
7 Hear, O My people, and I will speak; O Israel, I will testify to you and against you: I am God, your God.
8 I do not reprove you for your sacrifices; your burnt offerings are continually before Me.
9 I will accept no bull from your house nor he-goat out of your folds.
10 For every beast of the forest is Mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills or upon the mountains where thousands are.
11 I know and am acquainted with all the birds of the mountains, and the wild animals of the field are Mine and are with Me, in My mind.
12 If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for the world and its fullness are Mine.
13 Shall I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood of goats?
14 Offer to God the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and pay your vows to the Most High,
15
And call on Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall honor and glorify Me.
16 But to the wicked, God says: What right have you to recite My statutes or take My covenant or pledge on your lips,
17 Seeing that you hate instruction and correction and cast My words behind you [discarding them]?
18 When you see a thief, you associate with him, and you have taken part with adulterers.
19 You give your mouth to evil, and your tongue frames deceit.
20 You sit and speak against your brother; you slander your own mother's son.
21 These things you have done and I kept silent; you thought I was once entirely like you. But [now] I will reprove you and put [the charge] in order before your eyes.
22Now consider this, you who forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.
23He who brings an offering of praise and thanksgiving honors and glorifies Me; and he who orders his way aright [who prepares the way that I may show him], to him I will demonstrate the salvation of God.

Daddy i am thankful for my habibi. Thank you for blessing me with my best friend and confidant as a life partner. Its not been so long since we tied the knots but you have tested us in
so many ways (for that i say thank you). Thank you for blessing me with someone who knows how to press my buttons (thus teaching me tolerance and patience). Thank you for giving me a man who has a mind of his own and loves you. Thank you for blessing me with someone who sees me as his other half and not his footmat.

If there is one person who knows so much about me and still puts up with it..that's my habibi.
He has got my back when nobody else has....
Everyday when i rise i am grateful to God that i have someone i can call my dawg4life
When i was at my lowest and thought there was absolutely no reason to live he was there for me
He brings out the absolute best in me (and of course the worst :) )
I had been looking for my TTP for ages
But just at the nick of time the Most High blessed me with my number one stunna
Baby this is to many many years of joy, peace, madddd fun and lil squabbles with you
My big baby thank you for proving to me that naija men are the best EVA!
Please check out Nneka's page a beautiful gbosa to our naija men :)

Friends
The past few days have been sort of revealing for me. Two people i hold very dearly sent me really touching emails expressing their heartfelt appreciation for having their backs. To be honest i have never being a recipient of such before so i thought they were going off their trolley. Don't get me wrong i love my friends (if there is one thing i have down its loyalty i take it seriously) but besides the usual 123greetings ecard to say hi and long time miss u ishhhh i have never received anything so deeeppppppp.
It really got me thinking alot......how often do i tell people who matter the most in my life that they do matter? The first email i received was from my male friend who i will call R.K on the 15th. Met him last year while i was serving in lagos and he was there for me through my man drama to adjusting to d madness of moving to lagos He is like the big brother i was never blessed with. When i think of the popular saying 'friends are the siblings that destiny forgot to give me' he comes to mind. So getting a mail from him saying all the nice things about me was weird....this is someone i enjoy teasing alot (i better chill on that now).
I checked my mail today and saw another mail from a friend of mine who i will call D.F. Also met D.F during my service year in lagos. I honestly can't remember how we started talking but we just sort of clicked. She wasn't exactly the model corper but i tried to encourage her along way.....getting a mail from her today with a poem attached to it honestly made my day. If there is one thing i am most grateful to God for its that i took a well deserved break from the daily grind of living in London and went home to serve. Nysc isn't as bad as people make it out to be. I had mad fun in Iyana Ipaja camp (will have to blog about that soon) and i got to meet really cool people i might never have met were it not for NYSC. I learnt one thing this week thru the mails from .DF and R.K - those lil things you do to put a smile in someone's life really does make a difference. Even if the person doesn't express it right now sometime down the line they will. Trust me if u knew these 2 people u will understand why this is such a big deal......
This is therefore my first 'gratitude entry' to get into the thanksgiving mode :)
I am grateful to God for the NYSC scheme. It brought out the best and worst in me(had to hustle to get everything done!). Thank you lord for all the wonderful people who crossed my path especially the 'noise makers' of the 2005 batch b platoon ten set. miss you guys

Rest in peace

Its with deep regret that i announce the disappearance of Temmy's blog. I can only imagine how painful it must be to have all your lovely writings disappear. The last article i can remember reading was that aboout your mum coming over and thinking of giving her up for a loan lol. Our mothers do know how to press them buttons. Temmy don't let this pull you down girl.......i am sure this will only allow the literary juices to flow. Do check out temmy's new home .

Feathers, twist, ghana weaving.
I finally decided to stop being an ijebu girl and got my hair done. Going to the hairdressers is always an experience for me........in lagos i always loved going to downtown salon they just have a way of cracking me up (too much estrogen in a confined space). First there was this guy who walked in with a bin bag full of fake designer bags. If u want to rock a fake bag its all love (in my opinion) but not a bag that looks like 'nylon bag'! What really caught my attention was this man who paid so much attention to all that was going on and later bought one for his woman.
Ladies please be honest......your man walks home after a long days work and hands u a VERY fake bag would u be sincerely grateful. I wished i could just see the expression on the babe's face........Now u know a visit to the hairdressers will not be complete without the lil chinese man coming in with his pirate Cds. Those people have now expanded their base to include Sainsburys car park (i honestly cannot stand them........trying to reap where they haven't sown psssshhhh)
My entire day was spent at the hairdressers so u know it was full of petty talk here and there........Hope u all had a beautiful day?

Messenger
Earlier on today someone on my msn messenger decided to say hi! The funny part is that we had never chatted before (she added me on to her list during 'the confluence' era). The first thing she said was that 'she was cool' and the only reason she was doing this was because someone had confronted her online. Apparently the person felt she might be a 419 person or some ish like that. I have 92 names on my msn messenger list and the truth is that i rarely say a word to 75% of the people the reasons are just too many:
  • I have completely forgotten who the person is and feel its rude to start grilling
  • We rarely have anything to say after hi! wassup! and lol
  • They were part of my past
  • I never knew the person!

I have various groups on my list :forever amoir, friends, **** sistahs and other contacts. It just hit me today - what's the point of having all these people on my list if year in year out we completely ignore ourselves(it is best they are placed on my exile list (got that word from my new msn buddy)). I have now decided to do a messenger sanitation(wish me luck). Once anyone on my list comes online i will take the first step and say hi, if its someone i never actually knew, i will try and find where the missing link is. If there was never a link (these are the kind of people that click 'reply all' when a group mail is sent) i will just block and delete.

In other news the Governor of Plateau state Joshua Dariye has been impeached (like that was supposed to be a surprise).

Name that song:

And so on and so forth...........

This weekend was pretty uneventful.........nothing really happened on saturday apart from the fact that i practised my recorder. Going off on a tangent for a hot second :) my pastor teaches a few of us recorder classes every sunday. Initially i was the class olodo i just couldn't get the hang of using the recorder fastforward 5 weeks i am so on top of things now i am now a certified ajayi worker! I even practice songs we haven't started learning yet(showed everyone else what stuff i was made of yesterday!). That's a quick wrap up of my weekend.......o i forgot to mention my
team showed the stuff they are really made of yesterday by whooping Liverpool's butt!

Later in the evening i decided to watch BEN TV (naija station on Sky) Bisi Olatilo's show was on. Donald Duke (the governor of Cross Rivers state) was declaring his intention to run for presidency come 2007. I am not too much a politics person per se but i was tripped by what i saw on t.v (that man has a lil bit of Bill Clinton/ JFK charisma going for him). His speech was titled
'Why i want your mandate' ( better listen here) (i have heard alotttttt of politicians and so called leaders give speeches before this was solid......and there was a genuineness about him). Mr Donald Duke definately has my vote come 2007. Please check out his blog and official campaign website .In any case please remember Nigeria in your prayers because the next seven months will be very vital to the survival of that great nation.

A friend of mine decided to punish me today by sending me this lil IQ test unfortunately its on excel and i can't seem to get blog to accept it(will keep trying though). Blog experts please help a sistah out.......
Finally decided i need to get back to my first love: reading. I will be sharing on a few books that have completely turned my life around completely (bit by bit). There was something else i wanted to blog about but its skipped my mind.....will have to come back to that later.
Ladies do check out Miguel's blog....he has a poem that is sure to put a million dollar smile on your face.
Name that song:
All that time you went out with that other fellow.......i knew about it, i just didn't care.....pain in my head, i rather be dead

Nigerian Jingles!

Hubby and I are about to hit this chinese buffet in abit (they don't know what's about to hit them) and i had this revelation! Anyone remember when commercials in naija were catchy????? I don't know how i started thinking of macleans toothpaste :)
Be successful, be important, USE MACLEANS TOOTHPASTE!!!!
Anyone interested in walking down the memory lane of naija adverts????

(seriously this is an addiction i should be heading downstairs see me still checking out blogs!)

Rest in peace Mr Bradley

I was surfing through the net (like that's new!) when i got a message that Ed Bradley of 60 minutes had died of complications from leukaemia. I became a junkie of 60 minutes thanks to my Uncle and i was hooked on Ed and Andy Rooney's segment. You know how it is when u feel u connect with a presenter. The weirdest part is that i only just saw a piece he did on Michael Jordan on monday, tomorrow truly isn't promised to anyone.
O well, another one bites the dust...........what is it with all these deaths especially with xmas coming so soon. Lord please continue to build your hedge of protection around all that concerns me and everyone reading this. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

What song tickles you ?

I didn't get to have a proper church wedding (my dad is a muslim) so i missed out on playing all the songs i had written down since i was 16. Just heard one of the songs being played on
launchcast and it sent shivers down my spine.

Name that tune

Bye bye sadness, hello .......i'll follow u to the moon and the sky above...........i could stay forever, forever......love brought us together........

My hubby and I have decided that we would still get to play those jams when we renew our vows but that's still 4 years away!!!! So what songs must Mr DJ play on your big day? The most important in my opinion is the song u walk into the church with..........i have a new found respect for 'speechless' my Michaal Jackson after it was played at a wedding i went for 4 years ago.

Snoring wahala!

I love my baby to death but his snoring is killing me. We have been to the ear and nose doctor and a pump has been recommended(i for one am not in support of him using a tank to sleep). Now am beginning to regret it........really planned to type up a storm today unfortunately the background jamz isn't helping at all. I am not joking at all it is loudddddddddddddddddddddd. He has tried sleeping in various positions, using all them counter anti-snoring crap but ko sise(its not working). Someone help me!!!!!! I have now resorted to holding his nose for a few minutes(while he is sleeping!)

Name that tune:

never leave u lonely....

This weekend was pretty blah (borrowing Biodun's word), hubby and I spent quality time chilling at home. Finally learnt how to play draughts (checkers) and i most confess i am now an addict (though i keep losing). As usual we had friends over yesterday i totally love entertaining guests!
The verdict is out Saddam gets the death penalty. I personally don't think he deserves it though (after all the atrocities he commited he shouldn't get to go out with a bang like that). He should be locked up somewhere in Serberia or sumthin and the keys thrown away!
To more important stuvvs its seems the strike by unity schools in nigeria has gone up a notch! SSS are now being sent to arrest striking teachers. Click Here As a QCOG i am pretty ticked off at the level of deterioration of my alma mata (at this rate my mini-mes might never get to see quee cee in all its glory). It just saddens me to see how the education system keeps taking spiral shots downwards. What next?????
Finally decided to join the bandwagon and start my gratitude entry (thanks for the inspiration Diamond). I am thankful for the internet. Met alot of cool people via the net and reunited with loads of old friends. My college days were pretty lonely times but thanks to Hook Up Nigerians, The Confluence and Blackplanet i had enough company. Met one of my closest friends till date thru the confluence (she has been there through my man issues, her man issues and everything in between). Fast forward many years later i have caught the blog bug and its been a great ride (need to go for the next BA meeting) so far. I am thankful for sight (thank u Lord) to appreciate the various entries from my blog faves : Biodun, Vera, London Buki, Diamond, Miguel, Temmy,Overwhelmed NB and Bella Naija.
Name that song.....

WHY????????????

Today started off as a normal day (hubby and I were indoors today). That hasn't happened in awhile so we took the time to really rest. After a quick lunch we decided to play a game of scrabble (he always whoops my butt big time) a good friend of mine from my old church called to say hello. I went on to tease him since his team lost yesterday, the next few words he said hit me harder than a tonne of bricks. " Funmi, i lost my dad in the crash", next thing i said was no bcos i ensured i checked the manifest and i did not see any familiar name. Then again naija manifest ain't always on point........
He was a good man (and i don't use that word lightly). To really know how good a father is, you need to check out his sons. My friend is a few years younger than me but he is a good person. I always said if not for the age difference i would marry him (alot of the other ladies in my old church share that opinion too). His future wife is totally blessed. He is God fearing, hardworking and totally respectful. I was priviledged to meet his dad a few years ago and i saw firsthand where my friend got all those good traits from. My friend's dad loved the Lord and he ensured all his kids were trained in the way of the Lord.
I have been crying ever since i heard this horrible news bcos my friend is soooooooooo young now he has to make really grown up decisions as the first child. I only take solace in the fact that his dad instilled the word of God in ALL his kids. He was a good dad in every sense of the word. Its a pity he won't be around to see his kids graduate or wed but i take comfort in the fact that he left a GOOD LEGACY and in Jesus name it will live on.
This is in the memory of my darling friend's daddy,Lord please comfort his wife and kids that he has left behind. May his gentle soul rest in the bossom of our Lord.

Happy Birthday Sis!

I am blessed with three wonderful younger sisters and the cutest baby brother ever (dude looks like me i am told:) ). My second sister celebrated another year on this planet today wish i could see her and give her a big fat hug or better still pinch her. She is such a joy to be around, she is totally easy-going and things rarely get to her. She is so caring and generous (that child can give you her eyes and i am not exaggerating). She hasn't had things easy in life but she pulled through all the challenges with her shoulders high. Honestly nothing you say gets to her she just looks at you like you are off your trolley!

This is dedicated to one of my bundles of joy. OKOO (its an inside joke) wishing you the very best in all you lay your hands on. May the best of your past be the worst of your future. Here is to happiness, joy, peace of mind and all the other good stuff....Love you loads sis

To the bride and groom......................
I have had so much to blog about for the past few days but my access to the net was disrupted I will start with the most recent. A friend of mine had her wedding yesterday in Leyton and it was a beautiful and eventful day. The church service was short and precise (i can still remember what the vicar preached about!) and of course the bride was stunning. Its amazing how much transformation takes place on a girl's big day ( i still look at some of my wedding pictures and honestly doubt it was me in the pictures!). The only hitch was that the best man forgot the ring luckily he realised his mistake before the bride arrived. I am abit of a cry baby i must confess so i don't really do church wedding because i always cry when the bride is coming in, this wasn't an exception (the tears rolled in immediately i set eyes on my friend).
The reception was also a classy affair (this was the first time that i saw naija peeps actually wait to be called to the buffet table and not try the whole can i please get some more 'bokoto' ' u know i have been waiting since now' stunts). I had to help with the coordinating of the food and all the other good stuff. Bless the groom's mum apart from helping me light up the burners for the chaffing dishes she stayed clear (more aunties need to learn that).
My friend and her husband were housemates a few years back and i used to tease her alot about how good they looked together. Fastforward one year, she calls me to say they were now dating (i was completely in stitches), a few months later they were engaged. Stories like their's really gives me hope that love still exists if we only just take the time to look around us.This hottie and his friend came to my church last year to check out a lady that was recommended as a good catch (naughty boys checking girls out in church!) (i can still remember thinking his friend was so cute!). He and the good catch finally met after service but there was no connection. Guess what usher made an impression on him that fateful sunday!!! Eleven months later we tied the knots and i can't help but wonder how amazing God truly is, He is in the business of hooking His children up big time. He hooked me up with a good man and did the same for my friend yesterday (there are very few good naija men out there so when u have one ladies celebrate him) I will blog on that later....
Like with most weddings there were a few hitches prior to the big day but it all fell through at the end and for that i am totally grateful to God. The best part of the evening for me was seeing the look of joy and total satisfaction in the eyes of the bride and groom as they walked into the hall. Here is to joy, peace, happiness, frutfulness and loads and loads of fun for many many years to my darling friend L and her wonderful husband.
Another air tragedy hits my beloved country Nigeria and as usual fingers are being pointed again. Tape Transcript of ill fated flight what do you think? May the souls of the victims rest in peace.
